We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support monthly accounting close and billing processes for the crude segment, in compliance with GAAP and FERC standards. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial statements, and assisting with audits and regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Prior oil and gas experience and familiarity with Oracle or Synthesis software are a plus.
Must live in the Denver area, no relo offered
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and post monthly financial adjustments, including revenue and expense estimates and deferred income.
• Review financial statements and account balances for accuracy.
• Manage select invoicing tasks on a recurring basis.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain documentation for financial records.
• Provide requested data to auditors during reviews and annual audits.
• Assist with quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
• Stay informed on accounting regulations and standards.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams and external partners.
• Maintain consistent attendance and performance standards.
• Be available for work outside traditional hours when needed.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Solid understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Oil and Gas Experience REQUIRED
